Loretto School
Founded in 1827 as Scotland's original independent boarding school, Loretto is conscious of its distinguished history, distinctive ethos and the charitable intentions of its Governing body.
The School is set in a historical campus in the small coastal town of Musselburgh in the outskirts of Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh. It provides an all-round boarding and day education for just over 530 boys and girls.
Loretto is well known for its relaxed family atmosphere, traditional values and emphasis on the development of the whole person, mind, body and spirit, through academic study, the arts, extra-curricular and sporting activities.
The School responds to the demands of a changing world beyond school by preparing boys and girls for a life of personal fulfilment, leadership and service. Academic achievement is foremost amongst the School's goals which also promote independent thinking, respect for others, creativity and responsibility in all areas of school life.
