Head of Rugby, Housemaster - Seton
Andrew Binikos was appointed to Loretto in September 2018 as Head of Rugby and comes with a wealth of experience. Born and educated in South Africa, Andrew represented the Natal Sharks in 2005- 2006 in their Currie Cup campaign. In 2007 after attending the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, Andrew moved to Scotland to play rugby for Currie RFC winning the premiership in 2010 while working at George Watson's College for 7 years. Some of Andrews coaching highlights were coaching Musselburgh RFC 1st XV, Sharks Academy SKZN and the Currie Chieftains 1st XV. Currently he is still the Cyprus International head coach where he also enjoyed an international career playing 15's and 7's for his ancestry country through his grandparents. Andrew currently holds a level 3 rugby qualification and is a World Rugby Educator and Trainer for delivering UKCC rugby course in Scotland and around the world.
Andrew has been involved in running rugby camps for more than 10 years and believes in bringing the best out of his players through well structured, safe, competitive and fun sessions.
In June 2020, Andrew Binikos was appointed Housemaster of Seton House after spending over a year as resident Assistant Housemaster. He attended a boarding school himself in his home country of South Africa where he learnt the importance of strong values and being part of a warm community. Speaking about his appointment Mr Binikos commented: “I’m looking forward to reaching the highest standards across all areas, from the work of the House staff, the organisation and activities, to the boys’ behaviours. I want to reinvigorate traditions and values that will form the foundation of the boys’ well-being and experience at Seton.”
Andrew Binikos lived in the Housemaster’s accommodation with his wife, Stephanie and son, Zac.
