Becky Everett was born in London in 1963 and was educated at Gordonstoun, following which, she spent a year as a volunteer with Project Trust caring for children in South Africa. She trained as a nurse in Edinburgh specialising in paediatrics and worked as a Staff nurse at a children’s psychiatric assessment centre. She has experience setting up private and charity run child care facilities and for 22 years she worked in the regulation of care for Lothian Regional Council and the Care Inspectorate. This included the oversight of the inspection and registration of boarding schools and school hostels. While working at the Care Inspectorate she completed an MSc in Human Resource Management in 2004. She currently provides consultancy to care services and works part-time as the Quality and Improvement Manager at Leuchie House, a local respite service in North Berwick.
Becky is married to Mike and her two girls Alice and Rosie both went to Loretto. She sings with the Garlton Singers, enjoys walking and has recently taken up golf.
