Peter was a pupil at Fettes College after which he was commissioned into The Black Watch as an Infantry Officer. Whilst in the army he studied Theology and Divinity at King's College London and St Andrews University( where he met his wife Isabelle a GP they have five daughters). After service in Berlin, Northern Ireland and Hong Kong Peter was appointed Chaplain to Loretto 1994-97. He then became Head of Religious Studies and Chaplain at The Perse School Cambridge 1997- 2000. During this time he was elected to the Fellowship of Trinity Hall. Peter then spent the next eight years as chaplain at Gordonstoun. In 2008 he was appointed Headmaster of Ardvreck School. He is delighted now to be back at Loretto. He is a keen skier and often looks after the Church in Wengen, Switzerland, whilst in the summer he carries out locum chaplaincies to the holiday makers in France.
