Drama plays an important role in life at Loretto, and beyond the classroom, pupils can take part in:

  • School plays: Large-scale Junior and Senior Productions such as Footloose, Corum Boy, Grease, Little Shop of Horrors and Romeo and Juliet. The annual Senior Play features bold, contemporary theatre dealing with challenging themes to inspire discussion, helping students to discover the power of theatre.
  • Drama workshops within the activity programme attract large numbers throughout the School and visiting specialists have given masterclasses in stage fighting, physical theatre, puppetry and improvisation techniques.
  • Public speaking

Our on-campus Theatre can welcome an audience of 300 people and is fully equipped with a computer lighting board, multimedia projection and sound.
