Duncan Riddell

Hockey Coach

Duncan is involved across the whole hockey program at Loretto, this includes the girls under 14’s, boys under 15’s and assistant coach for the 1st XI teams. Away from Loretto, Duncan is head of youth hockey and Grange HC. He has been in charge for just over a year now and help with all age groups from under 10 through to under 18. He was part of the coaching team that won the U18 boys Scottish Cup and U16 Scottish cup last year.

Duncan started playing club hockey at Watsonians before moving to Grange in his last year of school and has been at the club for 5 years over an 9-year period with spells at Grove Menzieshill and Reading HC in between. Last year he was part of the side that won the league, the Scottish Cup, the National Play offs and took part in the Euro Hockey League (EHL).

Duncan has also been part of the Scotland Hockey set up for 10 years, playing in the under 16’s, 18’s, 21s and currently Senior Men’s team. As part of the Scotland Senior Men’s Duncan has played over 50 games and been part of the 2018 Commonwealth Games squad, part of the winning side at the European B division in Glasgow in 2017 and part of the European A division squad that playing in Belgium in 2019.
