ESU Public Speaking Competition.

Very well done to Barny, Tikhon, Lachlann and Daniel who participated in a preliminary round of this year's ESU (English Speaking Union) Public Speaking Competition held at Mary Erskine's on Monday evening, 8th May.

Each speaker had to deliver a five-minute speech on a given topic followed by questions from the judges, with particular attention on delivery, structure of argument, and engagement of the audience.

The seniors spoke on the given topic of “Tis not too late to seek a newer world.” – Alfred, Lord Tennyson, Ulysses . The juniors' topic was “The world is full of obvious things which nobody by any chance ever observes.” - Arthur Conan Doyle, The Hound of the Baskervilles.

Special congratulations to Lachlann and Tikhon, who both qualified for the next round, which will be held on June 17th,
