The Loretto Golf Academy, where potential tees off
Scotland is the birthplace of golf, and Loretto School, with its superb location adjacent to the world’s oldest playing course, has a strong tradition of top level golf. Our surrounding area of East Lothian offers a choice of magnificent links courses, and this tradition has blossomed into The Golf Academy, established in 2002, and its Indoor Centre opened by Sam Torrance OBE in 2015.
World-class golfing excellence
Loretto is globally recognised as one of the finest golfing schools. Due to its rich history, facilities, location and US College programme, it attracts talent from across the world. These players have won multiple World Amateur Golf Ranked events and regularly represent their countries of origin. Just this year one of our learners achieved a historic feat by becoming the youngest ever Scottish Amateur Champion.
Unique practice facilities and location
Located at the start of the Scotland’s world-famous golf coast and adjacent to one of the oldest courses in the world Loretto offers a truly unique golfing opportunity. As Loretto possesses one of the finest indoor training facilities in Scotland where our high-performance players can train all year round we attract some the world's most exciting young talent.
Our development pathway
Loretto learners have three golfing pathways to choose from.
The first pathway is to be a member of the Loretto Golf Club, which provides them with a handicap, membership of the Old Course, regular golf days along the golf coast and discounts on lesson fees, Titleist equipment and Foot Joy clothing.
The second pathway is trial to join one of our Elite Player Programmes, these programmes are delivered from our High Performance Centre and help players to lower their handicaps to single figures and then to become scratch players.
The third and final pathway is our marquee programme, our US College Scholarship Pathway. On this programme learners are prepared to not only secure scholarships to elite US Colleges but to thrive in the competitive environment.
