The play is suitable for all ages, but note that there may be material which would attract a 12A certificate in the cinema.

Noccioline (Nuts) is a quirkily interesting piece in which we can see the strong tradition of Italian political satire, perhaps best exemplified by Dario Fo, and is a response to events at the G8 summit in Genoa in 2001. The leaders of the world’s most powerful and economically developed countries met to discuss, amongst other things, debt forgiveness for poor countries, the Global Health Fund and food security. There were protests and demonstrations, which were suppressed with considerable force.

These events, shocking though they were, were soon to be overshadowed by the terrorist attacks on the United States on 11th of September. A challenging, dark, yet wildly funny piece presented by Loretto’s leading young actors.
