PGA Teaching Professional
We are currently seeking a qualified PGA professional to join the Golf Academy team to support the delivery of our coaching programmes, at our state of the art coaching centre, based in Musselburgh.
We are looking for an individual who can bring a commitment to the quality of coaching, learning and teaching we can deliver in the Academy and provide an engaging and inspiring experience for the pupils.
Reporting to the Director of Golf, you will support the overall success of the Loretto Golf Academy through the provision of first-class one-to-one and group coaching using our own teaching facilities and external venues such as Craigielaw, Archerfield and Royal Musselburgh. You will also be involved in the development of a world-leading school’s golf programme and supporting the delivery of the Golf for All and Performance Programme across the whole school. In addition, you will support the operational running of the Golf Academy, assisting in areas such as the running of the golf shop and conducting custom fitting and repairs.
To be successful, we expect you to have a real passion for golf and a desire to share this, as well as the ability to plan, prepare and deliver creative and challenging coaching to all pupils. Previous experience in using innovative coaching methods, video analysis, Trackman and SAM Putt Lab technology would also be an advantage.
You must be able to demonstrate a performance focus, be highly organised and have the ability to work on your own initiative. This is a team delivery and you must be able to demonstrate a real commitment to collaborative working and delivering performance as part of a wider team environment.
The role is varied and you will be expected to operate flexibly to enable us to deliver the wider-reaching programme of activity across the calendar year. This includes overnight stays, travelling to events and delivering the Loretto summer camp schedule. As we are a boarding school, all staff are expected to be keen to contribute to the wider school life and there will be a requirement to take part in occasional evening social events and other such activities from time to time.
Salary - £20,000 - £26,000 (depending on experience)
