Paul Gilmour

Paul Gilmour has substantial Finance and Operations Transformation experience across a range of sectors including many large and listed international businesses.

Paul was educated in Lanarkshire with a Law Degree and Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Glasgow and the University of Nijmegen.

After graduating Paul moved to London to train as Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young before joining their Consulting practice for a number of years.

Paul then worked with Visa Inc for 5 years where he had a lead role in their pre and post-IPO global alignment programmes. In addition, he set up and led several Finance, Procurement, Programme Management, Risk and Compliance functions for Visa’s CEMEA region. Visa sponsored Paul to undertake an international leadership development programme at IMD, Lausanne.

Paul moved back into practice as a Consulting Partner with Mazars LLP based in London for 8 years.

Paul relocated to Edinburgh with his wife Victoria and 2 children, Emilia and Luke, who both happily attend Loretto.

Based in Edinburgh since 2018, Paul is a founding Director of Merlin Consultancy with CFO and COO responsibilities in addition to leading consulting assignments.

Cycling, running, golf and two young children keep Paul on his toes.
