Tim was born in Scotland spent his primary and secondary education around Edinburgh and was awarded an open scholarship to Loretto School (1975-1980). He played 1st XI Hockey, was in the Athletics, Shooting and Fives teams and was Head of Seton House.
After gaining a BSc in Economics from Bristol University, and becoming Vice-Captain of Bristol University Hockey, he began his career in finance in London.
Tim has spent over forty years, across a range of roles and international locations, within financial services. In the past two decades his focus was on research around global markets and communication with colleagues, stakeholders, clients, and financial media. More recently Tim has provided guidance through an increasingly changing regulatory regime and has built skills in mentoring colleagues which, has proved to be increasingly satisfying and productive. He is now engaging in a series of mentoring and governance roles.
Currently based in London, Tim has travelled extensively and worked in London, New York, Singapore, and Australia. He and his Italian wife also enjoy spending free time at their second home in the Italian Alps. Their daughter Rebecca (13) is proud of her Singaporean roots as well as her British and Italian upbringing and is currently attending secondary school in London and keeping her parents on their toes.
Tim is a keen runner, hiker, and skier and, with his adventurous family, indulges in their love of culture and travel. Tim is a member of both Holland Park Opera and Glyndebourne Opera.
