GCSE and A Level Examination Results

At Loretto, we understand the importance of academic achievement and are extremely proud of our students’ exam results. Each year, cohorts achieve outstanding grades – a reflection of their ambition and dedication to their studies, as well as the fantastic support offered by staff at school. Comparably higher than the national average, the quality of our exam results solidifies Loretto’s status as one of the UK’s leading independent schools.

Over the years, GCSE results have been consistently exceptional. The academic year 2023-24 saw Lorettonians uphold the stellar standards set in the years prior. Our results in Maths and English were markedly higher in comparison to the national average. Students excelled in Art, Computer Science, German, and Psychology, with 100% of students’ exams being graded 9-6 (A*-B).

The same can be said of A Level results. In 2024, students at Loretto achieved an overall pass rate of 99%, in line with previous years. A remarkable 33% of students’ results were within the A*-A grade boundary. Out of the 19 subjects on offer at Loretto, 11 secured pass rates of at least 80% at A*-C grades. Strong results were recorded in Further Maths, Physics, French, and Spanish – with 100% of grades being within the A*-C boundary for the latter two. These excellent A Level results translated into acceptances at top universities, both in the UK and at international destinations.

You may notice that some exam years have been removed from our table, this is because the grades were impacted by covid and all schools’ grades were inflated across the UK. What we show are the non-covid effected results and our consistency.
