Creating Exceptional Lives

Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship is an impactful tool used to prepare pupils for the ever-changing environment they will experience following their time at Loretto school.

We expose pupils to real life entrepreneurship experiences, as well as developing their enterprise skillset, meaning pupils will not only have the tools required to launch a company, but will also develop highly sought after skills, for whatever their future career path may be.

At Loretto, we have the unique ability to draw upon influential networks and resources that help pupils realise their entrepreneurial potential.

Startup Sprint

Startup Sprint is an incredible learn-by-doing event that develops entrepreneurial skills and startup ideas. The three day event, offered to Lower 6th, is about being agile, learning rapidly and developing the mindset of an entrepreneur. This intensive, but fun, experience introduces pupils to new concepts, tools, business mentors and culminates in a final pitching event to a panel of expert judges.  Pupils learn how to tap into ideas that could potentially become viable businesses by testing their ideas in the marketplace. Students also gain an understanding of how to pitch ideas in a way that generates interest and creates a buzz.

Pupil Feedback

100% of respondents would recommend the programme to other students.

“The course accelerated our knowledge in enterprising and start-up skills.  I think it was a great opportunity.”

“The programme was insightful, even though I do not study business, they intrigued and incentivised me to dip my toes into the field. A very fun three days.”

“It was really useful because it helped us create a real-life business idea that could be launched in the future.”

Career Event

The transition from school to work is increasingly varied and complex.  In collaboration with Friends of Loretto, Form 5 – Upper 6th are offered the opportunity to speak with an impressive network of individuals and employers across a vast  array of industries and career paths.  To support pupils with their next steps, we provide them with a space to explore what will best suit their personal journey to professional life.

Educational Events

Throughout the year, we host both on and off campus events with guest speakers and masterclasses for both Junior and Senior School which allow pupils to learn the fundamentals of starting a business and tap into their unique entrepreneurial potential.
