Creating Exceptional Lives

Admissions Process

There is not one set way to join Loretto and our highly experienced admissions team are here to provide a personal approach for every family’s journey.

You may wish to start with a phone call to our team, followed by a visit, or you may prefer to request a prospectus to begin with. We always encourage you to come and see us, meet with a member of the senior team and have a pupil-led tour of the campus.

Your child may wish to experience Loretto for themselves and taster days can be arranged once they are registered (step 1 below). As a family, you may choose to combine a taster day with our entrance assessments.

For those who live far away, including overseas, we can set up a Teams call with you. Whatever your preference, we will make it happen. We work hard to ensure the process is smooth and fits your needs.

If you decide to join Loretto there is an easy pathway to follow, as detailed below:

Step 1 – Complete a registration form and return to our admissions team along with the registration fee, a copy of a recent school report (where applicable), a copy of the photograph page of your child’s passport and a ‘head and shoulders’ photograph.

Step 2 – An assessment and/or interview will usually be arranged depending on the year of entry. This usually involves tests in English, Maths and reasoning, and can be undertaken remotely for international applicants.

Step 3 – With parental permission, Loretto requests a reference from the applicant’s current school.

Step 4 – At this stage, successful applicants will be offered a place or invited to join a waiting list. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified.

Step 5 – Parents accept the place offered, or decline it, by the stated deadline date. A deposit is required when accepting a place.

Step 6 – A variety of induction events take place for pupils joining at the start of a new session and welcome packs are sent to all new families.

Step 7 – The pupil starts at Loretto Junior or Senior School and is given an exceptionally warm welcome!
